Gabe Weinert co-heads Johnson Capital Opportunistic Finance, which is the division of Johnson Capital focused on providing structured investment banking services to real estate operators and projects by raising joint venture equity, structured debt, and co-investing GP equity with its clients.
Since beginning his commercial real estate career over 14 years ago in the acquisitions group of Heitman Capital Management, Mr. Weinert worked in variety of investment management and banking roles where he was responsible for the asset management and origination of over $2B in structured real estate finance transactions. Most recently, he managed the West Coast office for The Carlton Group where he executed over a $1B of transactions. Prior thereto he was an investment officer responsible for the origination and asset management of over $900 million of construction, bridge, mezzanine loans and equity investments with Emigrant Bank and a Lehman Brothers sponsored opportunistic investor, Troxler Venture Partners. Gabe has also worked with JP Morgan and UBS Warburg in their CMBS and derivatives trading divisions.
He received a B.B.A. in finance from the University of Michigan - Ross School of Business graduating with high honors and an M.B.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) - Anderson School of Management.
