Johnson Capital International (Europe) has a representative office in Madrid, Spain led by Hector Fernandez (see biography) since 2008.  Currently JCI (Europe) is focused on its distressed property and banking joint venture in Spain with a group of Spanish real estate & legal professionals. JCI Managing Director, Ronald Lafever, works as co-managing partner of the Spanish joint venture from Madrid and the USA. The joint venture and related entities have provided real estate corporate finance advice to several Spanish Cajas (Savings Banks) & private real estate firms. JCI (Europe) expects the Spanish joint venture to lead to the possible expansion of its middle market distressed real estate advisory and corporate finance services to distressed markets in emerging Europe in similar partnerships to the Spanish model. JCI Europe and its local partners are studying the viability of raising a principal investment fund to be deployed in select distressed property and property related transactions in Spain and in distressed European markets such as Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, among others.
